Problem/Motivation

While setting up sites I have a number of cron tasks that need to run even if the site is in maintenance mode. Without Ultimate Cron, I can manage this by following the instructions found in the cron topic with drush, 'drush topic cron'. When I installed Ultimate Cron, to get more control over when cron tasks ran and because a custom module we use required it, the crontab immediately started failing with the following error. WD ultimate_cron: Cannot launch scheduled jobs while in maintenance mode!
The complete lack of an option to disable this globally or per cron job is incredibly frustrating... Poormans cron appears to work just fine in maintenance mode, but it's a terrible solution as I don't want to have to sit here all day and refresh the page logged in.

Proposed resolution

Either 1: Implement a global toggle to disable this 'feature' of Ultimate Cron, or 2: Implement a per job option in the launcher to override this behavour.

I'm closing this since Drupal 7 is now unsupported and there will be no more development on the Drupal 7 branch of Ultimate Cron either.

Thank you for taking the time and effort in reporting this issue, even though it never got resolved.
