Original issue report

With multilingual in core, we should test to make sure that everything works in terms of translatable content and translatable user interface text. We should also remove the few old instances of i81n_taxonomy (look for @TODOs.

The 8.x-1.x branch is no longer supported: if this still needs to be validated in 8.x-2.x, please change this issue's Status back to "Active", and the Version to "8.x-2.x-dev". Thank you very much in advance for your understanding and patience with me.

When I went through the localize.drupal.org strings for sitemap-8.x-2.0-beta4, I didn't see any strings that indicated they might be missing placeholders, etc. as was fixed in the first few commits to this issue, which makes me think this might be "fixed" in the 8.x-2.x branch.
