Wish List item: How we would like the Lists Widget to look and act

After a year or so of working with Flag Lists and considering all the functions and user experience issues, we have assembled a few suggestions in the form of a mock-up image of our "ideal Flag Lists widget."

The first attached image shows how it looks now, in context of our site. It sits above a View displaying various videos and allows the user to checkbox-select videos to add to a custom-named collection. Using the recently added feature in -dev for replacing the name "list" with a custom name, the terminology for this site is "Showcase." (However that does not also change the name in the button "New list?" and that issue has already been discussed in issue 2388741 #30 & 31.) The question mark icon on the right is of course not part of the widget. We added that, along with a tooltip-style popup with instructions to the user.

The second attached image shows an ideal layout and new suggested feature. The title appearing at the top is the custom name we would prefer. The modified layout is based on the idea that a user is most likely to want to create a new list first, then add items to it. The "New List?" button has been customized to follow the same custom name as applied elsewhere. Finally, the significant functional modification suggested here is to add an option to create the new list name concurrently with the adding of already-selected items. This way, the user has the option of either creating the list first, or making the list-creation and item-adding a single operation. Either way, the existing dialogue for entering the name would still pop up.

How feasible are these suggestions?
