Theme function to print out only the icons I want to use in a certain situation?

I have enabled several of the social platforms but I don't want all of them showing up in all situations?

I would like to be able to display certain icons in certain situations.

For example, on content type one, I would like the FB, Linkedin, and Yahoo buttons.
On content type two, I would like the multi-post widget
in a view, I might want a certain view link to be twitter only.
