Missing test coverage for entity template output of entity_test* entities

Follow-up to #2301245: Entity system invokes non-existing theme hooks: "Theme hook $entity_type_id not found." →

The entity_test* entities do not use an entity #theme template currently. Only their inner fields are rendered. This means that the entity theme template is not fully tested currently.

The parent issue removes the #theme property from the render array from the respective EntityViewBuilder.

We can (A) either revert that, add a template, and adjust tests accordingly, or (B) add a new test entity to explicitly test the entity template rendering only in an isolated way.

Thank you for creating this issue to improve Drupal.

We are working to decide if this task is still relevant to a currently supported version of Drupal. There hasn't been any discussion here for over 8 years which suggests that this has either been implemented or is no longer relevant. Your thoughts on this will allow a decision to be made.

Since we need more information to move forward with this issue, the status is now Postponed (maintainer needs more info). If we don't receive additional information to help with the issue, it may be closed after three months.
