Add 'Date last Edited' option to 'Display Settings' option for a content type

A checkbox for 'Display author and date information' is in Administration >> Structure >> Content types >> Edit tab, (admin/structure/types/manage/page), in the 'Display Settings' vertical tab.
There are a couple of issues with this:

Just one of these pieces of information may be wished to be displayed. For example, I usually do not want the author info display, while I do want the date info displayed.
An important date is the last date edited. Viewers often look for this to see if the page is up-to-date or not.

Proposal: place 3 checkboxes instead of 1, so that any combination of the 3 pieces of information may displayed:

Date published
Date last edited
Author

Thank you for sharing your idea for improving Drupal.

We are working to decide if this proposal meets the Criteria for evaluating proposed changes. There hasn't been any discussion here for over 8 years which suggests that this has either been implemented or there is no community support. Your thoughts on this will allow a decision to be made.

Since we need more information to move forward with this issue, the status is now Postponed (maintainer needs more info). If we don't receive additional information to help with the issue, it may be closed after three months.
