We have a lot of places in core and contrib where the admin user has to type in settings as key|value pairs. This is usually where options for select lists / radio buttons / checkboxes are specified. Examples include FieldAPI and webform.
It would be nice if FormAPI provided a nicer widget for entering these, as the current system is not brilliant UI: the pipe key is not often easy to find and is hard to read (eg 'mail|Mail' -- I can't read the different vertical bars without squinting).
