Seems after all this, I had the wrong conf file enabled and it was still using the 000default.
User Error, but a learning experience for me!
Webroot .htaccess and all other files are in place but still getting vanilla page with no theme and link throw not found.
I believe I have mod rewrite enable now but still no diff.
Went through and completely re-uploaded the site, assigned permissions and ownership, re-installed LAMP and PHPmyadmin and anything else I could think of. Opened the website and still shows no theme nor can I follow link to login. Here is the Apache log:

Yes, at this point I am at a loss. Installed all the hidden files and still could not get Drush to enable so I could clear the cache or look at logs. I'm re-transferring all the files just to ensure there wasn't something I missed, but am learning there is so much more to this than older versions of Drupal. Not sure what you charge, but I'm willing to pay at this point to get this going. Will enable SSH. How do you wish to contact? My email is tomgrandy@gmail.com
Copied all hidden files (lesson learned - this is my first Drupal 10 site made plenty of D7 sites).
I think it is learning to build from the Command Line that is both slowing me down and speeding up the build (slowing as in learning as I go - speeding as in how much faster it is to install packages).
Anyway, with the hidden files in place, I am still seeing the same vanilla opening page with no other working pages. Am going to attempt to install Drush and try some of the other comments to see what is going on.

Not seeing any hidden files on server. Going to see if they existed in the zipped file I took out or if I excluded them.
