I am having a very similar issue. On a new Drupal 10 install, I added this module using composer. It installed successfully but when I go to upload different types of supposedly supported files (png, gif, jpeg), I will get the error message. I tried the code changes recommended above and now I can upload a png file but I can ONLY upload a png file. I suppose I can work around that for now but as I'm deciding on what carousel module to use, I would like to know if this is gonna be fixed or if I should move on to a different module. I'm fairly new to Drupal. I'm not a programmer but can edit code. Can someone help me understand why I'm having this problem and, better yet, how to resolve it?
