Since the merge issue module has been closed as working as designed and they are pushing it to a particular purger instead, can we review my patch and see if we can get that merged in?
What we really need for this is a unique identifier that links an individual date to the date content rather than a delta which can change if the dates are reordered upon saving.

I'm having similar issues as well trying to maintain webforms a huge hassle as the build interface fails to load due to js running extremely slow. The issue lies with fontawesome being loaded through ajax.

Added a patch that will invalidate the cache tags for the replaced file thus invoking drupal to purge the required files cache and the cache url for the file.
