Thanks for report, the issue has been fixed in 2.1.0 version for drupal 10 and in 3.0.0 version for drupal 11.

Thanks @matslats, your fix was applied in version 8x-1.65 and will move on new ones.

As I see, you can try to use it now, using composer:

composer require 'drupal/bootstrap_simple_carousel:2.0.x-dev@dev'

I almost sure that there are not any new bugs, but I should make sure and install it on different drupal versions.

I just released a dev version, need time to double check and do official release. It should take up to 1 week.
