I want to confirm that the patch drastically improved the DB session load. I attached the before-and-after test results. We can still observe the load, but in our case, this is in range. Thank you, everyone, for your work on the solution!

It's likely not a module issue. If you can confirm that your dataLayer sends data in the console, it is likely a GA threshold, meaning your site doesn't produce enough data for GA. You can change this in GA in Settings>Data Collection and Modification>Data Collection by disabling
"Include Google signals in reporting identity."
Uninstalling and installing back module fixed the issue for me.
Confirming, after switching from 1.x to 2.0.2 I have the same issue, google tag js script tag is not present.
