I've created a patch to fix the compatibility issues. It looks like the format_size function has changed to Drupal\Core\StringTranslation\ByteSizeMarkup::create(). This has been updated along with the version number. Not updated in this are all the doc comment issues.

I can confirm, removing "core: 8.x" fixes the issue.

How long until this gets pushed out as a new version so it's usable? What still needs to be done here?
