Change database system nomenclature

Current database system nomenclature is confusing. Examples:

It is confusing when studying the drupal's database and you try guess what nid, vid, uid, tid, lid, mlid, etc., means. Just think about "vid" it is used in both: node_revisions and vocabulary table.

We have users table (with "s") and role table (without "s"), system table and actions table, variable table and sequences table, etc.

In block table we have "tmd" that seems to stand for "Theme, Module and Delta", and also "list" (for fields theme, status, region, weight and module) what about naming it:"tsrwm"?

Just a quick review but guess that there others inconsistencies.

As there has not been movement in 12 years going to say it's outdated.

If still valid please reopen for how it applies to D10

    Thanks

I was a bit tired of drupalisms back in 2012. Nowadays we have more people doing site building than coding at such low API levels. If somebody ever has the time to explore schema and propose specific changes, then we can reference this issue as a nice evidence of how many really care :)
