Record "pending admin approval" state

Problem/Motivation

Drupal does not record whether a user has been approved or denied by an administrator.

Case:

  1. reg. process set to "admin approval" (gist, makes site "private/semi-private" & reg. an "application")
  2. "admin users" perm shared, common to social network site (worse if admin # grows/unpaid?)

As "application", may require communication to confirm affiliation, relation etc. - or at very least some scrutiny/common sense - or you wouldn't have used "admin approval" at all. Each user admin delegate only sees status "blocked" or not. If review begun by one admin, another doesn't know and may set to active or start another communication (why worse as admin # grows).

Arguments:

  1. If good enough reason to option/exersise "admin approval", then unblocking dictates process (to varying degrees).
  2. If process started, admin sets to "Pending", "In Progress" or "Under Review" until decision is made (5min, 5 hrs, 5days).
  3. Other user admins won't duplicate efforts, "step on toes" or at least see some action underway.
  4. Have provided default "pending" email template for "admin approval", and provided delegation option of "user admin" (perm shared) - therefore should provide for appropriate account status if in review process.
