Remove settings for different retention periods

Problem/Motivation

The current settings indicate an option for having a local retention duration that does not match the remote retention policy. This was a good nice-to-have but in fact makes it a lot more complicated to track and update, The complexity and risk is too big for the gain. The retention period setting should be reduced to one setting that is honored both locally and remote.

Acceptance Criteria

1. Only one setting exists.
2. All reference to the remote setting is removed.
3. Language is updated in the settings page and Readme
