With Automators/Field Widget Actions, we no longer need a module to create AI powered alt text. This can be replaced using a simple recipe, and could even provide two different methods, one that just describes the image as the module did, and another that provides contextual alt text based on the other fields on the entity.
Document the plan for the recipe.
Create a recipe that replaces the module's functionality and add enhancements.
Replace the module configuration in Drupal CMS 2.0.
