[Meta] Release Plan for AP Style Date Minor Release 2.1.0

Problem/Motivation

The intent of this issue is to coordinate efforts for the creation of the 2.1.0 release of the AP Style Date module.

As of the creation of this issue, the module is stable and supports Drupal 11 and later. The 2.1.0 release will focus on resolving the configuration schema issues and introducing other improvements.

The reason this is a minor release is:

  1. Bumping the minimum supported Drupal core version to 10.3.
  2. Adding a significant database update.
  3. Changing the API slightly.

Remaining tasks

  • Resolve the above issues blocking the release.
  • Merge all merge requests for the listed issues (merging into the 2.x-dev branch can be done at any time; no release required).
  • Create the 2.1.0 stable release.

Release Notes

  • Raised minimum Drupal core requirement to 10.3.
  • Fixed configuration schema validation problems.
  • Introduced database update to align existing configuration with schema changes.
  • Adjusted month-only formatter to properly collapse same-month ranges in non-current years.
  • Improved test coverage for year-display options.
