Claro theme Selection List name and value fields overlapping

Created on 21 August 2025, about 2 months ago

Problem/Motivation

On Drupal 11.2.3. Whenever a select list field in a content type is created or an existing one is edited, there's a formatting issue.

When creating a field and there are no values yet, the header overlaps over the fields like so:

And when you're trying to edit the field to add more values, they overlap over the one above it.

Steps to reproduce

1. Create or edit a list field in a content type. Can be of field type text or integer.
2. Add additional values to see how they overlap with one another.

Tested this on 11.x today with the standard profile and was not able to reproduce the problem.

Are the contrib module or custom code installed?

  • It's Claro from core, no contrib module or custom code. I realized today when opening it on a second monitor that it seems to be a responsiveness issue. On my smaller laptop screen, the fields overlap like they do above. On a larger screen, they behave normally.

I tested with a fresh Drupal installation 11.2.3 using the Claro theme, and I couldn’t reproduce the issue. Please see the screenshot.

Does it still behave normally when you resize your browser window to make it smaller?

Yes, I forgot to mention—I also tested it on a smaller screen, and it works fine. Maybe it’s a browser-specific issue?

Oh, yep! That seems to be the case! I attempted it on Safari and it works as intended. Mozilla Firefox is the browser that I had been using before.
