The recently increased longer lifetimes of both PHP and core has disrupted things a bit.
I tried to make note of that in two comments at:
- #3530820-3: Use PHP compatibility that matches Drupal core →
- #3530820-5: Use PHP compatibility that matches Drupal core →You can keep using 2.5 til the end of this year when PHP 8.1 expires.
I still need to think it through, but you have nothing to worry about for now. Just let composer do its thing.
