I have a fresh D11 site and created two content types with a single value reference field from one to the other, allowing creating new items.
The configuration for the field describes "terms", implying this is only for taxonomy terms?
Furthermore, the options are confusing and possibly broken.
Despite the Show Term not found message option being disabled, the message is shown.
Also, it's not merely a message that informs you that the new term will be added.
It is actually a button that must be clicked, or else the new term is not added.
1. Standard install profile.
2. Add Page reference field to Article content type, allow creating new Pages.
3. Configure page reference widget to use Autocomplete Deluxe, allow new terms, don't display term not found message.
Add a new Article, fill out the Page field to create a new page. Saving the Article without clicking on the message will not save the field value.
Maybe this is all just confusing because the message is required when allow new terms is selected?
Can we rename terms to entities or items?
