update from 2.0.1 to 2.0.4 with composer doesn't work

Problem/Motivation

running composer udpate keeps version 2.0.1, no update to 2.0.4. No error prompt, all other modules update fine when needed.
Composer.json file however has following entry as per expected

"drupal/recaptcha_v3": "^2.0"

Steps to reproduce

run composer update, "non update" occurs each time
