Exposed Operators leads to now showing the filter at all

I have installed BEF 6.06, VEFL 8.x-3.2 and the patch 3161777.

If I expose the operator for a taxonomy term filter on a node view both the term filter and the exposed operator disappear.

It looks to me as if VEFL does not play nice with exposing operators in this setting.
