Format date in US month day year date format

Here is a patch that switches the rendered date format to m-d-Y format.

Thank you for working on this! Since different sites have different date and time formats due to location and preferences, it would be great if it could use the default format defined under /admin/config/regional/date-time.

The issue is now resolved, and a new release has been created.
