Gather requirements for Member Platform use by Mentoring Team

Problem/Motivation

A new place is needed for mentors to get information about mentoring events and opportunities.

Currently the DrupalContribution.org site is being used, which was built with OpenSocial, but it has shortcomings.

Member Plaform → is a new project to build an entirely Drupal based platform for member registration and service provision. While it won't be ready for some time, it would be useful to start tracking requirements for a new Mentor site to see if they align with the capabilities of Member Platform.

Steps to reproduce

Proposed resolution

List requirements below:

  • Mentors should be able to register themselves on the site
  • Should integrate with drupal.org's single sign-on (not essential but nice to have)
  • Should provide list of upcoming events with mentored contribution
  • Should enable emailing of members
  • Options to allow members to select what emails they receive, for example, by topic (e.g. events, mentoring opportunities, tips), and possibly region.
