Domain hostname on DomainForm changes to reflect the current domain when editing domain record when an alias exists

Created on 8 April 2025, 9 days ago

Drupal Version

Domain module version

2.0.0-beta2

Expected Behavior

Editing Domain record works without random changes.

Actual Behavior

Every now and then, the 'hostname' value on a Domain record form will change to reflect the current domain instead of the one saved initially to the Domain record. This gets confusing when aliases are tracked for a domain and environments. I think I understand the mechanics of why, but this form may be one area to not do that. It can create a configuration mismatch.

Is it totally random or can you provide a repeatable scenario for this bug?

Have you given a try to the 2.0.x-dev branch?

I have not seen this myself, but colleagues will show me a screenshot of a form when they are editing other domain record values or third party settings, and the hostname has changed to reflect the one in the URL (they match). I am trying to replicate it.
