All the roles of user getting removed after saving user edit form

The roles are getting removed for the registered user after saving user edit form

Implement the simple multistep form in user account form. For a registered user, when editing their basic details and saving the form, it remove all the roles that was assigned to that user.

After implementing simple multistep first we get an error TypeError: key(): Argument #1 ($array) must be of type array, null given in key(), to fix this we have apply this fix https://www.drupal.org/files/issues/2022-12-23/3328962_2_0.patch → , then the user registration and edit form works but after saving user edit form the roles are removed
