chore: Impove user and developer documentation

Problem/Motivation

Would be good to improve the current documentation in the README.md file to make the module description and functionality expectation more clear, and improve FTUE.

Also, recheck and extend the developer documentation in the file CONTRIBUTING.md to simplify configuration of local environments for developing.
