User friendly Schedule published state Error message

Created on 25 February 2025, about 1 month ago

Problem/Motivation

We installed the module and running accessibility testing came up this question from the expert: Can we update the error message when the user does not set the publish stated?

Providing more context, our set up is a D10.3 installation with multiple content creators and content editor experience and accessibility is an important part of our project. In our case our workflow only have basic editorial workflow with Draft/Published/Archived states, and the only transition available is to schedule a publication from Draft to Published.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Enable Scheduler on a Content Type
  2. Set up publication Date and time, leave state as -none-
  3. Save

Proposed resolution

  • Create a custom setting (text plain) for entities that allows Site Builders to customize error messages.
  • Create a custom setting (select list) so we could Set up a default state to publish by Entity
  • Create a custom setting (text plain) for entities that allows Site Builders to update Update the error message for time format and state
  • Create a custom setting (text plain) for entities that allows Site Builders to have custom help text
