How to limit user to create only one node ?

Created on 16 December 2024, 3 months ago

Unfortunately there is no documentation for this module, which has lost a lot of popularity.

I would like to know how to limit the user who has the role "editor" to the creation of a single node of type "article"?

I want that if the user tries to create a second node, he is redirected to his first node with a message "You have reached the limit."

How can I do this with the Rules module ?

@tr Thanks I just read the answer, but if the user deletes his node, he must be able to create another one. May be always limited to 1.

So how to do that with the latest version of rules? How to create this rule.

I don't want to create several roles for this, because I will have other limitations in the future, like limiting comments per user, ...

I can't provide consulting support to a moving target in the issue queue. I gave an answer. The issue about deleting a node and being allowed to create another is a different question, but the answer is quite similar - when the node gets deleted, add back the role that allows the user to create another node of that type. Two different tasks, two different Rules.

Unfortunately there is no documentation for this module, which has lost a lot of popularity.

There are hundreds of pages of documentation, and hundreds of examples, and that's just the stuff I wrote. It's a little insulting to say there's "no documentation". Maybe you should just look.
