isUsable should support direct setting of API key

Problem/Motivation

📌 Provide a framework for testing with real providers Needs work will be setting authentication directly via setAuthentication, which other things may also make use of. Currently isUsable checks for a configured key, and doesn't check whether there is direct configuration. It should check for either.
