Build new UI for managing URL aliases and redirects

Created on 9 December 2024, 7 months ago

Problem/Motivation

A common problem I see from content managers is that it is difficult to manage URL aliases and redirects, and it is often not clear what to use.

Proposed resolution

Can you explain a bit about what would be better here? Also, is this maybe something that should be done in the Redirect module, which we depend on? Building entirely new UIs isn't always in Drupal CMS's scope. In what way(s) should we, in Drupal CMS, improve this?

Moving this to the Ideas project.

Per ✨ Pathauto in Core Needs work it's unlikely that pathauto itself is going to be moved to core. This could possibly be moved to a feature request against pathauto/redirect (to merge the UIs there), but I think either Damien or berdir should probably do that rather than me.

Moving this to the core queue because the ideas queue is deprecated.
