When I install this module, composer installs "drupal/chosen_field" as well. I'm already using the "drupal/chosen" module and I'm unsure why a seemingly competing (but maybe better?) module is included instead.
Additionally, the description of this module even links to drupal/chosen. Granted that is for the D7 version, so perhaps that should be taken with a grain of salt?
composer require 'drupal/chosen_order:^1.0' -W
Change "drupal/chosen_field" in the dependencies to "drupal/chosen"? Perhaps I'm off base on that though.
Alternatively, document this if it should be kept as is to make it more clear how this module should be used.
Understand the current situation/intent before making any changes.

I haven't worked on this module in ages, but if memory serves it just adds additional functionality the to chosen module to maintain sort order of the available options. Are you saying that the chosen module offers that now?
