No span created OOTB

Steps to reproduce

I installed the module, and added Span to the CKEditor5 Menu for Basic and Full HTML. When I highlight text and click the Span element, and then enter details into the provided attrib fields, and click save, nothing happens. When I check the source, the text has not been wrapped in a span.

When I look in DevTools console I see spancommand.js:70 refresh false
