Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 ()

Created on 8 November 2024, 7 months ago

Problem/Motivation

We have collapsiblock installed and enabled, but it is currently not being used. We started getting the error :

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 ()

in the page inspector > console that points at collapsiblock.js

Because we are currently not using the module anywhere on our site, we can't tell if there are any functionality issue associated with this error. All we know is Google does not like that kind of stuff and there are consequences at their end.

We fixed the issue at our end, or at least stopped that error from showing up on the console by assigning 755 to the files and the folders inside the module, including collapsiblock.js.

We did not notice this issue until two days ago, which was after the module was updated to 4.3.

Steps to reproduce

Make sure 4.3 is installed. Go to some page > inspect > console.

I think you have some serious issues with your infrastructure if you need js files to be executable for them to load in the browser.

The collapsiblock.js the browser is trying to load is already readable by all groups and users, that should be enough.

I'm going to mark this postponed in case there's more to it but after a while I will close it.
