Should this work for anonymous users?

Problem/Motivation

We've installed this module, because we experienced two carts for the same anonymous (not logged in) user, putting items into cart via AJAX and via regular form.

Even with this module installed, they are not combined.

Is this module eventually focused on logged in users?
If yes, is there a plan to also fix this for anonymous sessions? Otherwise it would make sense to point out on the module page, that this module is only focused on authenticated users?
