The ability to filter requires a textbox, and when there is only one or two facets links to show this makes the user experience worse instead of better, almost certainly is unhelpful at three or four, and it is a judgement call if it makes sense at five and more that sitebuilders should be able to make for themselves.
Make configurable the minimum number of facet links before showing text filter.
If there are only this many links to choose from, do not show the text box for filtering. Set to zero to always show the filter even if only one link to filter (not recommended).
