Datepicker doesn't work with Ajax

Date field as exposed filter using BEF Datepicker doesn't trigger AJAX

Create a view for a content type that uses a date field
Add an exposed filter for the field of type date
Enable ajax in the view
Enable better exposed filters
In BEF settings, set the date field to use datepicker
Go to the view page and as you select a date, it won't trigger ajax to reload the results. Other filters such as text fields and dropdowns with taxonomy terms are working.

So I'm having to make the Apply button exposed because for Date the ajax is nto working. No errors in the console log.
