Problem/Motivation

We have 1100+ editors. They need to stage content because they often have to get approval from multiple stakeholders before it can be published. We use entity browsers together with entity reference fields to help bring shared content into many of our content types. As they stage new and updated content across various entities, they need to be able to see the moderation state/status of the entity they are bringing in.

Proposed resolution

Add a widget setting to show the latest revision in the edit form.

We also had to apply the patch from https://www.drupal.org/project/entity_browser/issues/2851580 🐛 Re-order + remove broken with the Entity Reference (and File) widget Needs review , which altered the necessary changes. The MR is applied against 8.x-2.x.
