I am currently developing documentation pages for Scheduler, using MkDocs and the pipeline 'pages' job. So I started by converting an external document explaining how to write a plugin.
The new documentation pages are here https://project.pages.drupalcode.org/scheduler/plugin
Hopefully this gives you the information you need to start creating a plugin for the Redirect module. Let me know how you get on, and if you have any questions about the instructions.

The Drupal Redirect module does not support scheduling redirects natively.
for enable scheduling you can use .
Rules Module: Use the Rules module to set up workflows that activate redirects based on conditions, like a scheduled time.

Thank you Jonathan, I'll discuss it with my client and see if they'd be interested in funding the work.
Zartab: Thanks for mentioning that. I'm more likely to use the ECA module than Rules, but we're already using Scheduler so I think we'll probably start there.

@damienmckenna that would be brilliant if your client could fund the development of a Scheduler plugin for Redirect. Given that this module is 10th in the list of most widely used/installed, I am sure that a plugin would get a good takeup. I will be happy to assist the developer (you?) and to make any tweaks to Scheduler that are needed if the new plugin requires adjustments.
If this does come to fruition and your client would like this I can give an appropriate credit on the project page.
