The current implementation places the link option within the advanced settings during content creation, which includes managing Iconify icons. As the platform evolves, this setup is becoming less ideal. In upcoming updates, the advanced settings will be moved to the field formatter level, allowing for more granular control and customization of how icons are displayed. Given these changes, the most streamlined approach to managing Iconify icon links is to develop a dedicated widget for this purpose. This will simplify the user experience and better align with the platform’s evolving architecture.
To address the upcoming changes and enhance overall usability, the link option for Iconify icons should be moved out of the advanced settings. A new widget will be created specifically for managing Iconify icon links. This widget will be accessible at the field widget level, allowing users to easily configure icon links without delving into advanced settings. Additionally, the advanced settings will be relocated to the field formatter, ensuring that users can override settings on a per-content basis if needed.
