Erroneous width:0px being applied to <li>

Problem/Motivation

I am using the modult to create a sticky nav of just <h1> tags and it is working well.

However, I have noticed that a width:0px is being added by JavaScript to each <li> and the next display effect of that, while not immeditely obvious, is to shorten the last item as demosntrated here with some Inspector fiddling…

The problem is probably not related to toc_js as no javascript code modifies the li width or any other element width in the source code of the 3.0.x-dev version.
