I just recently found that I'm starting to get errors of "There are no content items matching" when trying to add additional items to a autocomplete deluxe field, this is using Drupal 10.3.1 and Autocomplete Deluxe 2.0.3.
If I change the field to a regular autocomplete the issue goes away, so it's not an issue with the referenced content. Other than that I.'ve not been able to determine what's causing the issue.

Had a very similar issue, switching do 2.x-dev worked for me (the fix has been merged).
