Adding an icon to a existing link in ckeditor splits the link

Problem/Motivation

If you add an icon to an existing link in the ckeditor, the link will be split into two separate links with the icon in between.

Note:
Creating a new link from text that already has an icon works fine.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Add text to the editor.
  2. Create a link somewhere in the text via the ckeditor.
  3. Add an icon somewhere in the text of the link.
