Is it possible to authenticate when connecting to elasticsearch using this module?

Problem/Motivation

I am trying to use this module to connect drupal 10 site to an elasticsearch instance. To make a successful connection and to create the index etc I need to send username and password when connecting but I don't see how to do this?

Is it possible or not in scope?

Yes, you can even implement your own Auth Plugin if you want.
