The vertex_ai_search module is supposed to provide a path for moving from Google Programmable Search Engine to Vertex AI Search. One of the features of Programmable Search is promoted results. This is no equivalent in vertex. There are better features in vertex, but in the spirit of moving from Programmable Search without losing functionality, this module should provide some degree of support for presenting promoted search items on the SERP.
A local solution for creating promoted results will need to be created. The management of promoted search results should not be a part of the vertex ai search module because it is not part of the vertex ai search. However, there should be a mechanism for easily manipulating the search results on a SERP - this will allow the ability to add a promoted result to the page.
Essentially, create a hook or a custom plugin to that will allow others to manipulate the results on the SERP.
