Database connection type

Is it possible to implement a database connection type? From what I can tell the code is there but in the UI there is only "External Entity Server". I would like to define external database tables as entities using the oracle → driver/module.

    That does sound like a neat feature to connect directly to the database; we don't have any use cases for that at the moment. If you write a new connection type plugin that supports it, I would be okay with merging that into the project.
