If the user has a future contract phase, even if it's the same as the current, he sees the following message:
You have pending contract changes. Further contract amendments are not possible until then. Please contact us to revoke cancelations or for individual cases.
And so isn't able to apply any contract upgrades or downgrades anymore.
This is partially expected, but a problem under some conditions, for example if there are weird changes that keep the same subscription, but for the next period.
We saw cases where a Credit Card payment failed and such a change entry was produced on Billwerk side then.
