This is the exact same issue as https://www.drupal.org/project/mailchimp/issues/2949125 🐛 mailchimp_lists_load_email fails to find email address field when attached to a related entity. Needs work , However the patch is for version 8.x -1 and the issue is still in version 2.2.2
Can we get the fix put in the module so we dont need to patch and in the meantime can some please help me with recreating the patch for this version of the module.

The fix from 🐛 mailchimp_lists_load_email fails to find email address field when attached to a related entity. Needs work applies to this ticket as well. It is in both 2.x (since 2.2.3) and 3.x. Closing this ticket.
