ImageMagick is not cleaning up after itself when processing images imported from external sources before adding those images as media items in Drupal.
This issue has an attached patch to create a cron job that can be scheduled to delete image artifacts that are over 1 day old.
When the related issues are resolved and ImageMagick is cleaning up after itself, this cron job can be removed from the project.
Until then, something is needed to clean up the lingering artifacts, as they take up a tremendous amount of disk space over time.

Just posting to mention we experience issues with the /tmp files too. This is since a couple of weeks.
Also this issue seems to come alive again, maybe some bigger problem? PHP extension?
